As previously announced, the inaugural Rotary Club of Morganton Zombie Run 5K & Family Fun Run - along with countless other community events - was canceled due to damage caused by Hurricane Helene to our local community, our town, our county and our venue, Catawba Meadows Park.
However, we are excited to announce that most of our sponsors have agreed to donate the funds from their planned sponsorship to the newly created Burke County Disaster Relief Fund. This fund set up by the Community Foundation of Burke County will go to local charitable organizations supporting recovery efforts specifically in Burke County.
Rotary Club of Morganton, with the help of our Zombie Run sponsors, has donated $10,000 to this fund to help our neighbors, friends, families and businesses rebuild their homes, businesses and organizations. If you’d like to join this effort, find more information at www.cfburkecounty.org
Our generous sponsors who agreed to redirect their donations to the Burke County Disaster Relief Fund are listed below. A bit Rotary Thank You goes out to each of them for their support!
