Rotary Club of Morganton Blood Drive

Rotary Club of Morganton once again partnered with the American Red Cross to hold a Blood Drive at the Morganton Community House on Saturday, February 1. This year, we enthusiastically joined forces with another community partner, the Burke County Emerging Leaders, to help promote and conduct the Blood Drive.

We were able to collect a total of 26 donations this year - meaning we were able to help 78 donor recipients. The Club holds a blood drive each year in the spring to help accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer. Every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood or platelets and approximately 29,000 units of blood are needed each day. To the Rotary Club of Morganton, this need is essential and we are dedicated to helping bring in a small number of the 6.8 million people who donate blood each year. What greater act of Service than to give the gift of life.
