Rotary Club of Morganton donates $10,000 to Burke County Disaster Relief Fund

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, the Rotary Club of Morganton's anticipated Zombie Run 5k and 1-mile Family Fun Run, planned for Catawba Meadows Park, had to be cancelled. However, the story doesn't end there. Most of the run's sponsors agreed to donate their sponsorship money to the Burke County Disaster Relief Fund, created by The Community Foundation of Burke County. That's $8,000 raised from a run that couldn't happen. The club is supplementing that donation to equal a  $10,000 donation to the fund. The check was presented to J.J. Musgrove, President/CEO of the Community Foundation at the Club’s Halloween Party on October 30. To contribute to local Hurricane Helene recovery efforts, please click Here.

Roamer sponsors: Smart Start; Blue Ridge Healthcare. Creeper sponsors: Case Farms; Electronic Sales & Marketing; Smith Builders, Ronnie Thompson Real Estate; Appalachian Naturescapes; Stroud's Building Supply; Perry's Berry's; Lowdermilk Church & Co, LLP; Edward Jones; and Crawler sponsors: Heritage Funeral Services; Engel & Volkers Foothills; Seiren NA; Van Noppen Marketing; Table Rock Printing; and Rotarians Ron George, Deborah Jones and Steve Della Sala.
