Rotary's Habitat for Humanity Work Day
The Rotary Club of Morganton recently held a Habitat for Humanity work day last Saturday to help build a home for a family living in substandard conditions.
Habitat for Humanity is a social service and non-profit organization that partners with Burke County families living in overcrowded, unsafe conditions to build modest, energy efficient homes.
“Habitat is a great partner organization that RCM works with twice yearly. The future owner of this house, Juan, has 6 children and is buying this 5 bedroom house. He first applied to Habitat 3 years ago and is anxious to move into his new home. Our chore was to install vinyl siding. It was a great day for Habitat and Rotary,” said George Milner, President of the Rotary Club of Morganton.
Thanks to all the Rotarians who participated and offered their tremendous service, and a special thanks to Stuart from Habitat for Humanity of Burke County for his guidance and patience!
